Our story

We are Sarah Hitchings and Jenny Stewart. We met whilst undertaking an MA in Life History Research at Sussex University, a course we both loved. We founded our company ten years ago in the firm belief that there is huge value in enabling people to tell their stories and to share them with others.

Running our business over the past decade has given us the unique opportunity of conducting hundreds of interviews with people from all walks of life, something we both feel incredibly privileged to do.

We have also worked on a wide variety of projects across East and West Sussex collecting memories of a diverse range of subjects from the Queen’s Jubilee to the Lewes Phoenix Ironworks, the Falklands War and the Nevill Estate in Lewes, where we both live.

We have also done a lot of work in schools in the area, both primary and secondary and we particularly enjoy the challenges and rewards of taking oral history into the classroom.

We offer a very individualised service, taking great care to tailor each interview to our client’s specific needs and ensure they are happy at every stage.
